"Modern Times" Movie Watching and Discussion Session

Our department held a discussion in collaboration with the International Relations department on the 2nd of November 2022 in our faculty. The students and professors watched Chaplin's Modern Times together to discuss the industry, modernity, and bureaucracy. While Dr Kanatli was focusing on the Fordist mode of production and its influences on society, Aydin underlined the bureaucratization and transformation of the production process. Elhan also discussed the historical and political background of the transformation. After short interpretations of Kanatli, Elhan, and Aydın, the students and professors contributed to the discussion with their questions and critiques.
